چکیده

The dynamics of tilted vortex lines in Josephson-coupled layered superconductors is considered within the time-dependent Ginzburg-Landau theory. The frequency and angular dependences of the complex-valued vortex mobility μ are studied. The components of the viscosity and inertial mass tensors are found to increase essentially for magnetic field orientations close to the layers. For superconducting/normal metal multilayers the frequency (ω) range is shown to exist where the μ−1 value depends logarithmically on ω. Tilted and crossing vortex chains in layered superconductors

In the presence of the Josephson vortex lattice in layered superconductors, a small c-axis magnetic field penetrates in the form of vortex chains. In general, the structure of a single chain is determined by the ratio of the London [λ] and Josephson [λJ ] lengths, α = λ/λJ . The chain is composed of tilted vortices at large α’s (tilted chain) and at small α’s it consists of a crossing array of ...

Long-range fluctuation-induced attraction of vortices to the surface in layered superconductors.

It is shown that in extremely anisotropic layered superconductors the interaction of vortex lines with a parallel planar surface, which for straight lines along the c axis decreases exponentially over the in-plane penetration depth l, becomes a long-range dipole-dipole attraction when the vortex line is distorted randomly. This novel long-range fluctuation-induced attraction enhances the therma...

Inertial Mass of a Vortex in Cuprate Superconductors

We present here a calculation of the inertial mass of a moving vortex in cuprate superconductors. This is a poorly known basic quantity of obvious interest in vortex dynamics. The motion of a vortex causes a dipolar density distortion and an associated electric field which is screened. The energy cost of the density distortion as well as the related screened electric field contribute to the vor...

Fluctuations in the Josephson–pancake combined vortex lattice

We study vortex fluctuations in strongly anisotropic layered superconductors placed in tilted magnetic fields where there are two alignments of vortices: pancake vortices (PV s) oriented along the c-axis, and Josephson vortices (JV s) aligned along the ab-plane. For low enough out-of-plane magnetic fields Hc, the JV sublattice pins some PV s, confining several of their degrees of freedom. This ...

Anomalous Fluxon Properties of Layered Superconductors

Highly anisotropic layered superconductors can be considered as stacks of Josephson junctions (SJJ’s) [1, 2]. The key feature of SJJ’s is mutual coupling of junctions, which can be achieved via magnetic [3, 4], charging [5, 6] or nonequilibrium [7] coupling mechanisms. Properties of SJJ’s can be qualitatively different from that of single Josephson junctions (JJ’s) or anisotropic type-II superc...
